Genom olika avtal med förlag kan forskare vid Lunds universitet ta del för att publicera open access i hybridtidskrifter och rena OA-tidskrifter.

Manchester UP är en pionjär i detta avseende; förlaget är det första stora brittiska akademiska bokförlag som publicerar vetenskapliga böcker samtidigt i tryck och online med Open Access. Den plattform man då använder är OAPEN, Open Access Publishing in European Networks. Lund University Press’ böcker ges ut under samma betingelser.

Researchers are expected (although not obliged) to deposit a copy of their publication/s in LUCRIS. Research funders are increasingly requiring publicly funded research to be freely available. Open Books at Lund University (OBLU) is a platform for open access publication of academic and scholarly books, reports, conference proceedings etc. that are produced at Lund University. Its intended purpose is to provide a platform for the presentation, dissemination and preservation of such material. following open access policy shall apply at Lund University. Lund University strives to spread knowledge of its research and research findings to a wide audience in accordance with the Berlin Declaration on Open Access. At the same time, the University defends the freedom of the researcher to choose the publication format and channel. Self-archiving is a way of making publications that are published or accepted for publication freely available, and means that a full text version of the publication is uploaded to an institutional repository, a research database such as LUCRIS or another open archive.
